Calgary's Newest Hotel Design Inspiration
Have you ever seen an interior design and thought **wow! I NEED to have that!*
This is exactly what happened when Saskatoon based Interior Designer, Jocelyn Malcolm vacationed in Norway. It brought a simplistic and airy inspiration to the design of her newest project, the design of Days Inn - Calgary North Balzac hotel, which opened late 2017.
The hotel rooms boast a focus on simplicity, minimalism and functionality. This is apparent through the clean lines, soft colors and ample accent lighting to accentuate the chosen furniture. The lobby is bright, and mirrors the design of the rooms with natural aspects such as wood grains and marble.
This is the first prototype of its kind in Canada for the Days Inn brand. The 110 well-appointed rooms and suites include features that Days Inn guests have come to expect at all properties across Canada like the Daybreak Café breakfast, free wifi and mini-fridges and microwaves in every room. However, this design incorporates additional items guest want in a hotel such as extra luggage storage in the room, semi-private meeting spaces and charging stations throughout the lobby area.
